When you create a job, you can easily change the pricing method by going to the Details tab and select from the drop down list Pricing Method field

There are four pricing methods available

  1. Time & Materials
  2. Fixed Price
  3. Stages
  4. Sections

Time & Materials - this pricing method allows you to add a varying amount of supplies and labours which keeps updating the job total. This is helpful when your jobs are always comprised of varying supply quantities and varying labour charges.

Fixed Price - this pricing method allows you to set a specific amount for the job. You can still add supplies and labour charges but they won't impact the overall job value which is set as a fixed price. You can tweak your templates in order not to show the breakdown of supplies and labour but only show the overall total job value.

Sections - this pricing method is used for larger projects involving multiple jobs you can create Section Based Jobs.  To learn more about this, please access Create a Section Based Job user guide.

Stages - this pricing method is an alternative to Sections that allows a single view of all child areas. To learn more about this, please access Pricing Method - Stages user guide.

Tip

You can set up your default job or quote pricing method in Administration → Defaults.
