Comment: Added instructions on how to solve the "Company File Username and/or Password are invalid." issue encountered using MYOB

Problem

Encountering "Ascora could not access your accounting package" → "Company File Username and/or Password are invalid."

Solution

This can happen when using the wrong credentials, or the account used does not have the correct permissions.

The following steps will guide you through the process of fixing this issue:

Connect without using my.Myob login.
  1. Open MYOB AccountRight and connect to your Company File
  2. Open Setup → User Access.

  3. In the "Manage Users" tab under the "Add or select a user" either choose an existing user to provide access to Ascora or Create one.

  4. Ensure that under "Set user access" the checkbox for "This user will sign on with my.MYOB account" is unchecked.

  5. If we are creating a new User Account, provide it with an appropriate username.
  6. Make sure to set the password and keep a note of the username and password so you can add it to your Ascora account under Accounts Integration.

  7. Under "Company file roles" set the "Administrator" and "Sales" permissions to be checked.

  8. Click "Save"

  9. Go back to Ascora → Accounts Integration, and under MYOB Username and MYOB Password add the username and password from step 6.

  10. Click "Save Accounting Settings"

  11. If successful, the "Company File Username and/or Password is invalid." should no longer show.
